Cameron County Public Health strives to promote the health and well-being of all of our Cameron County residents. The Clinical Services Program operates in four public health clinics across Cameron County in Brownsville, Harlingen, San Benito and Port Isabel.

Title X Family Planning services play a critical role in ensuring access to a broad range of family planning and preventive health services for men and women of reproductive age of Cameron County.
The mission of the Sexually Transmitted Disease Program is to prevent, treat, and/or control the spread of HIV, STD, and other communicable diseases to protect the health of the citizens of Cameron County. In keeping with this mission, we manage available resources so that we may: provide communicable disease education and information, collect, interpret, and distribute data related to HIV and STD and other communicable diseases services and provide medication and supplies to prevent, manage, and treat communicable diseases. In pursuit of this mission, we will make every effort to assure that the citizens of Cameron County receive quality services.
Title X of the Public Health Services Act is a critical component of the nation’s public health infrastructure. It is the only federally funded program solely dedicated to providing reproductive healthcare to low income and uninsured women, men, and adolescents. Read More About Title X.

Cameron County Health Clinics offer all the Vaccines Recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) thru the Texas Vaccines For Children (TVFC) and Adult Safety Net (ASN)Programs.

Adolescents and children who are 18 years of age or younger may be eligible to participate in the Texas Vaccines for Children Program. The Texas Vaccine for Children Program is a federally funded program that provides vaccines to eligible children at no cost who might otherwise not be vaccinated because of inability to pay. Adult Safety Net offers vaccines for uninsured Adults in the State of Texas; or to Adults 19 years that had started a vaccine series while TVFC eligible and that have not reached their 20th Birthday

Mission Statement:

- Serves children ages 0 to 21 years of age with medical conditions that will last for more than 12 months.
- Service is provided by a Case Manager to help children with special health care needs and their families get services the child needs.
What is Children with Special Health Care Needs Case Management?
It is a service provided by a Case Manager to help children with special health care needs and their families get the services the child needs. Case Managers help with:
- Family problems;
- School/education issues;
- Transportation problems;
- Identifying services and making referrals in the community;
- Obtain a medical home for child;
- Overcoming barriers for families; and
- Providing community referrals.
- Planning for your child’s future.
- Planning for adult life
- Preparing for adult health.
- Emergency Planning
- Trasition Services
Who is a Children with Special Health Care Needs Case Manager?
A licensed registered nurse or a social worker approved, trained and given technical assistance by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
What can a Case Manager do for you?
- Evaluate the child’s and family’s needs;
- Assist in locating services and providing referrals within the community to meet child and family needs;
- Work with the family to develop a case management service plan; and
- Provides follow-up with families to assure needs are met.
- Help develop a plan for your child’s future medical and educational needs.
- Develop on emergency plan.
- Prepare for future legal needs.
