Operation Border Health Preparedness, previously named Lone Star Operation, is a drill aimed at preparing the community for emergencies. The Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and local collaborators provide complimentary healthcare services, including medical, dental, and vision, to the community during the occasion.

This initiative is made feasible through the collaboration of Texas Health and Human Services, Cameron County Public Health, medical institutions, social service organizations, Texas Military Forces, and universities, along with external agencies like Remote Area Medical (RAM) and other volunteer groups.
