Fast 5 Story: 2nd Annual Healthy Aging and Wellness Fiesta

In celebration of September as National Healthy Aging and Wellness Awareness month, Cameron County Public Health, in collaboration with the City of Combes, proudly hosted their Second Annual Healthy Aging and Wellness Fiesta on September 19th, 2024, at the Combes Community Center.

The event attracted over 60 participants who engage with community resources, learned about the differences between normal aging and Alzheimer’s Disease, and participated in Tai Chi and grip strength assessments offered by the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Occupational Therapy program.

Cameron County Public Health looks forward to future Healthy Aging and Wellness Fiestas aimed at connecting community members across various cities in the county with valuable resources and educational opportunities that will emphasize the importance of healthy aging.
